Public Transportation
The ability to travel, to get to work, to friends, to stores, and to health care is vital to the well being of all Texans. In a region as expansive as the Golden Crescent, access to transportation is particularly important. The Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission (GCRPC) has been committed to providing transportation services since November 1986. GCRPC is currently a multiple provider of transportation services, which serve the general public, elderly, and persons with disabilities. GCRPC is one of many transit contractors in the State of Texas who provide public transportation services under contract through the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDoT), and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
Rural public transportation services called RTRANSIT is provided in the following counties Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda, and Victoria. Within the City of Victoria GCRPC operates a small-urban system called VICTORIA TRANSIT.

Public Transportation Asset Inventory Survey: 5-Year Regionally Coordinated GCRPC Transportation Plan
The Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission (GCRPC) is responsible for the development, implementation, and update of the 5-Year Regionally Coordinated Transportation Plan (RCTP). The RCTP update process identifies gaps and unmet needs in public transportation services in order to formulate public transportation solutions that ensure accessibility to all economic activities.
GCRPC is currently updating the RCTP to outline how public transportation will be maintained and enhanced over the next 5 years (January 2022 – December 2026). A Public Transportation Asset Inventory survey will help gather new data regarding available public transportation services, new or previously unmet public transportation needs, and identify current inefficiencies in the delivery of public transportation in the Golden Crescent region. Participation from agencies and organizations that provide transportation services is highly valued and encouraged. Please complete the survey below.
For more information contact Colin Keller, GCRPC Transportation Planner, at (361) 578-1587 ext.201 or by email at colink@gcrpc.org.
