provide mapping location information to 9-1-1 dispatchers
B. Develop redundant network for routing 9-1-1 calls
C. Develop early warning notification system (reverse 9-1-1)
Mutual Aid
Agreements
There are very limited mutual aid agreements between some of the region’s local entities and counties. Limited mutual aid agreements exist between the Emergency Medical services. A small number of fire departments have implemented agreements between their agencies. At this point it is believed that there will be a need to develop mutual aid agreements that are acceptable with all entities that will be involved in the response to a terrorist event. A Regional Master Mutual Aid Agreement has been proposed that would cover any participating jurisdictions in the region. This concept could be expanded between Councils of Governments, as there are specialized services and expertise that exist only in the larger urban areas, such as bomb squads and hazardous materials units.
Mutual
Aid agreements will also be addressed between school districts, hospitals,
private industries, and other entities.
GCRPC is developing an inventory of existing Mutual Aid Agreements. The Regional Homeland Security Committee will identify and address gaps and/or discrepancies. Master agreements will be developed on a county-by-county basis to cover agencies in each county.
